Audio Controls

"Wow! That was a very long hard day" the left shoe said to the right. " Yest, it always is on a Saturday because it is the day we have to walk around the Park, Zoo or other such outings" replied the right shoe. "Still it is nothing a really good night's rest won't cure" They agreed.

The next morning as the pair of Shoes slept under john's bed, they were accidentally picked up by John's older sister and put in a bag for rubbish. It happened so easily as they were in among old papers and magazines. She was in such a hurry that she just swooped everything up in one go and threw them into the black sack. The shoes woke up with a fright! "Hey, What is happening here? It is dark and yet we are moving." The left shoe shouted. " Calm down! We are probably just being packed up to go away for the day". The right shoe yelled.

Hours went by and the shoes were still in the bag. Nothing was happening, all was quiet but there was a bad smell. "There is something not right here, what is that smell and do not blame me I have odour eaters" the left announced. "So do I. Let's have a look out and see what is going on" The Right shoe suggested. They climbed over the papers, magazines and there was even old clothes. They made it to the top and with a tight squeeze managed to get out the top. It was then they realised it was not a day trip but the two shoes had ended up in the dump. "What is going on, we are new shoes, we should not be here, I'll bet it was John's sister in her usual hurry and dumped us without knowing, can you believe it!" The Left shoe said very upset. "Whatever happened we have got to get out of here and make our way home" The Right shoe replied.

Off they marched to find their way home. "We will follow the signs for the local school, from there we will easily make our way home, we have certainly walked it enough times" suggested the right shoe "Good Plan" Replied Left SHoe with delight

They passed through fields, crossed main roads, went through a shopping center, down side streets. It was a long trip for them both. "There is the church steeple, the school is right beside that, keep going we are nearly there" shouted the left shoe. Not long after the two shoes arrived at the school, it was bad enough they had so many miles to walk but hiding from people was not easy either. "Down the road, take the first left, then the second right and that will bring us home" The right shoe told the left. They happily jogged the rest of the way as it was a small distance and they were so excited to have made it in one piece.

When they got to the house they went through the gate at the side of the house and waited at the back door for one of the family to spot them. John's sister was coming out the back door when she saw the two shoes. "Mum, Mum look where the shoes are, how did they get there?" she asked "I must have put them there for some reason, cannot for the life of me imagine why" John's Mum said as she picked them up. "Mind you they do not smell the best, maybe that was the reason, still a nice wash and they will be as good as new." SHe said.

After a refreshing wash and dry, the shoes were carefully put in john's Press. Left and Right Shoe fell fast asleep as they were very tired from their big adventure. They were very glad to be home.
